Story
Hi there!
Well I am getting prepared to participate in the Moomba Birdman Rally again this year and take the plunge into the Yarra River on Sunday March 9th in a 3 meter long rocket ship.
Apart from an unhealthy desire to jump into the murky depths of the Yarra the reason behind this is 2 fold.
One is to raise funds for Tearfund- a charity I have supported for many years. They do excellent work helping lift some of the people in the poorest places in the world out of poverty.
The other is to support the "Safer World for All" campaign which seeks to call on our government to lift our modest aid budget from 0.68% to just 1% of the Federal Budget. |n a world facing many increasing challenges such as conflict, climate change and economic difficulties we can be a better neighbour by increasing our generosity. This is even more important now as the needs are great and other countries are reducing or stoppi
My fundraising goal is $ 8,000 - which sounds like a lot of money to give someone to fall in the Yarra - but I believe the cause is worth getting wet for.
Donations made through this platform are tax deductible and secure and will be sent directly to Tearfund Australia.
